Stimulants are often prescribed to treat children, adolescents or adults diagnosed with ADHD. ADHD causes hyperactivity or difficulty concentrating. All Stimulants work by increasing dopamine levels in the Brain. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter associated with attention, pleasure, and movement. When used for other purposes at a higher rate, dopamine increases rapidly and is amplified, disrupting communication between brain cells and producing euphoria.

Psychosis makes a person unable to tell what’s real and what’s not. Therapy and medication is needed to treat Psychosis. Some stimulants, such as Cocaine, can cause cardiovascular problems. High heart rates and blood pressure isn’t good for the body, and can sometimes be fatal. Cardiovascular disease can be treated, but some can include changes in the person’s lifestyle.
